Our Effective Therapy Options
When looking for addiction treatment for you or a loved one, the type of therapy pays a large roll in success.
Recovery Residence in New Jersey
During our NJ rehab center’s over 40 years experience in addiction recovery, we have developed an addiction treatment program (including rehabilitation and detox coordination) that has proved successful for many clients and their families. Below is a description of our NJ rehab addiction recovery process and links to more information about our team, therapies, New Jersey rehab facilities and aftercare.
Intake is often the first interaction between a client and us and takes place over the phone. During intake, our admissions team conducts an interview to determine the severity of the client’s addiction, current substance use, substance history, and family history. These factors help to determine the best addiction treatment plan. At this time we also begin to coordinate the insurance process and make financial and insurance arrangements.
Once a client is admitted to one of our addiction recovery programs, the alcoholism treatment or drug addiction treatment part of the recovery process begins. The average length of stay in one of our rehabilitation treatment centers in NJ or PA is from 30-90 days. During addiction treatment, clients learn to identify the underlying causes driving their addiction, and to address these issues in a constructive manner. The goal of rehabilitation treatment is to teach a new way of living, without alcohol or other drugs.
Each client is assigned to a counselor for individual therapy. The counselor will help identify and address the client’s underlying addiction drivers, provide relapse prevention strategies, and create a sustainable long-term recovery plan.
In addition to individual therapy, Advanced Health and Education NJ rehab center offers group counseling sessions. Among other things, group counseling lets clients know that they are not alone in their struggle to recover from addiction. Group therapy can provide inspiration and a network of support, both of which are critical to the addiction recovery process.
Our rehab center in NJ also offers a program specifically designed for families of those suffering from addiction. A family’s desire to see a loved one succeed and live a healthy life is a significant source of encouragement for the client. In our family therapy sessions, members discuss how they have been impacted by a loved one’s addiction, and work to resolve issues so that they don’t resurface when the client leaves rehabilitation treatment.
Recovery is a daily process that does not end with the completion of a treatment program at our rehab facility. Continued recovery support is essential to avoid relapse. Our counselors work with each client to establish an effective aftercare plan. Counselors and clients discuss a variety of aftercare strategies, including 12-step groups, sober living homes, continued therapy sessions, and sober life coaches.
Outcome studies reveal that clients who participate in “ongoing monitoring” programs after addiction treatment have the greatest chance of maintaining abstinence from alcohol and other substances. These services are mandatory for clients in certain professions, including healthcare, pilots, and transportation workers. Ongoing monitoring provides an added incentive and a much-needed boost in relapse prevention. At Advanced Health and Education NJ rehab center, we believe that these services should be incorporated into an aftercare plan for clients who are serious about recovering. We offer these services through our Alumni Association and certified case managers with whom we have relationships.
Sober living homes are a common next step after graduating from a rehabilitation treatment program. Sober living provides a family-like atmosphere where residents have the opportunity to live among other recovering individuals. Sober living homes often have job programs to help residents find employment, and offer drug testing to ensure that housemates are clean and sober.
Meetings of Twelve-Step groups like Alcoholics Anonymous® (AA®) or Narcotics Anonymous® (NA®) are offered in almost every city nationwide. The meetings are free of charge, and are the most widely accessible recovery networks. AA® and NA® offer group therapy in a relaxed community-based setting. If you are looking for a meeting, you can find more information here.
